Well dont be surprised by reading this posts title, but this is a real fact that no one in the web would really help you to make money online. You may be reading many online blogs which talk about how to make money online, but did you find any of these which are genuinely going to teach you or are they just trying to make money out of you guys by just showing you some big dreams?

All of these blogs have posts with Affiliate/Referring links to various products from which all the bloggers make commissions when you guys signup under their referral links and at the end you find that the program didnt work out for you and you move on in the search of more of these programs.

But the real scenario is completely different because if you stick to a single pay per click program and a single website you can easily reach your targets. Before working on a website first of all decide on basis of the following plans.

First and foremost step is to select a good domain name and then stop getting deviated by registering many other domain names. Setting up the default CMS which ever is easier for you to handle and getting a good design for your website. Signing up for a money making program like Adsense / Yahoo Publisher Network / any other PPC network and setting up the ads on your website. Building and just building content for that website and waiting for a minimum of 6 months would give you real results rather than setting up a website with couple [10-50 pages content] and expecting to make you 100$/day.

Just before building a website make sure you have anything and everything related to the niche you are working on, example : if you have a website on hairs you need to have every info on hairs with images, video’s, expert interviews, guides, freebies, downloads and many more. This would make your visitors to come back and would not let them go back to search engines for more information. This makes your website complete and is the time when you start getting visitors who would promote your website in their own network because of the resource.

Instead what 99% of the webmasters do is making a website with 10 pages and expecting to make 1$/day which they think would help them become rich, but why not make a site with 1000 pages and expect 100$/day? That would make your website get authority in the search engines, make your visitors satisfied and help you to organise all your time by working on a single site and experimenting on the adverts , building the content and search engine optimising it. Also before you start out making a website dont forget to make a goal for the income you are dreaming off with some breakups like milestones and try to reach them on by one.

New Way to Make Money Online

I am always looking out for new ways to make more money online with less effort, even with mapquest. Recently I came across an innovation that you may want to hear about because it may affect the way you earn with your website in the very near future. I just signed up myself, and I decided I want to share it with you, guys, too. I think there is enough room there for everybody...

As you may know, major television networks are in trouble because their advertising revenue is dropping. At least people say so. TV networks are losing market share to the Internet. More and more people prefer to consume news themselves on their own schedule rather then being fed with something already half-processed, and on the schedule set by somebody else.

For the first time in history, website owners are sharing in the ad revenue that was formerly spent with the giant TV networks. Advertisers like Harley Davidson, HBO & Taco Bell are willing to pay you and me on 100% of our website traffic to make up for the loss of viewers that the big TV networks are experiencing.

"Thanks" to Google, we all got used to pay per click (PPC, or more "professional" CPC - cost per click) ads, and many newcomers to the business even do not know that there are other methods, more favorable for publishers. The best would be cost per time (CPT) of course, when you set up an ad once, and get paid a fixed sum of almost free money on the regular basis no matter what. As long as you are in, it is as good as the money in the bank.

Next to the best is CPI or CPM - cost per impression or thousand impressions (Latin Mille or Roman numeral M). Under this method you get paid by the number of impressions, i.e. how many times you displayed the ad to your visitors. No action is needed on the user side, nobody counts clicks, you don't have to worry about optimization or click fraud. Your only worry is traffic - the more traffic you bring to the page with this ad, the more money you make.

This new program I stumbled upon uses CPM method with a twist, and they call their method PPP - pay per Play. What is play? Play is a 5 second long context targeted audio ad, which is played once per page per visitor, right after the page loads. This is the twist, and this is the innovation. Nobody else did such kind of ads before on the Internet, as far as I know.

So, if you join, you get paid every time visitor opens the page with ad code. The more pages and visitors you have, the more you get paid. The good news are - if you have a website or blog, this service will complement whatever monetizing model you have in place already. Well, the bad news are - you can't use it on Hubpages. Not until HP staff looks into this and possibly adds this program to the list.

The Online Money Making Distractions

Before you get into the methods of setting up your website and get things going online, there are some things that you need to try to avoid when you start in your money making online journey. I am talking about all the distractions out there. Let me share a story about this first.

About five years ago, I began pretty much right at the beginning. Not really knowing a lot about generating an income on the internet. Luckily, my background is in computer programming so I had a bit of a leg up there. I knew how to create a website and knew a bit about graphic design as well - enough to get me by anyway. So when I first started, I began by reading various money making methods online and worked on implementating these methods. The trouble was that I was bombarded by so many different methods on how to make money, that I kept getting sidetracked and wanting to try them all. I never really gave each method a good chance because I would not spend enough time doing the work properly.

It was only about a year or so ago that I realized that I needed to focus on just one thing and learn to do it really well. Once I figured that out, I was amazed on how well I started doing. I wish this was something that I would have figured out right at the first -- this is why I am sharing this here. I hope you all take this advice.

Remember, if you frequent some of the online money making and internet marketing forums, you will be bombarded by headlines like this:

"I earned $53,656 in 24 hours and you can too!"
"Learn how to get on the top of Google in 2 minutes"
"How to dominate and make a million per month!"

These aren't real headlines but you get the idea. It is easy to read things like this and get sidetracked and tricked into trying it out.

My advice when you start out is to try to stay away from the sales letters, hyped up headlines and other things that can easily distract you from your chosen money making task. Believe me, from someone who has experienced it, you will save tons of time and money.

Another huge distraction are forums. Sure, forums are a great place to learn new things about the various ways to make money, but it can also be a huge time waster. Myself, for one, got hung up in some of these forums and spent too much time reading and not enough time acting. You also have to be careful because not everything you read in a forum is true or correct. Remember to always verify everything you think is fact in a forum because it could be just someone that is not really qualified to post about the topics of that forum.

If you can figure out the balance between actual work and the "distractions" that come to you, you are going to be well on your way to succeeding.

How to Make Money From Your Website

Making Money From Advertising

If you look at many websites, you will probably notice that there are banner advertisements displayed on most pages. If you are a newcomer to the scene, you might think that you must either be a company or that your site must be famous before you can get advertisers, just as it is the case in hardcopy publications.

In reality, anyone with a website can get advertisers. While it is true that if your site is well-known, you may get companies contacting you to offer to advertise on your site, you can get advertising revenue even if you are just starting out and your site is relatively unknown.

The way to do this is to join as an "affiliate" of various sites, either directly, or through an affiliate network. An affiliate network is simply an intermediary where you can select from a variety of advertisers.

Payment Schemes

Before joining any program, you should probably be aware of the different payment schemes available.

1. Pay Per Impression (CPM)

   Here, you are paid according to the number of times the advertiser's banner is displayed on your site. The amount you earn is typically calculated based on the number of thousand impressions of the banner (impressions = number of times the banner is displayed), often abbreviated CPM (cost per thousand, with the M being the Latin numeral for thousand). That is, $5 CPM means that you get paid $5 for 1,000 displays of the banner. In general, the amount paid is usually small, but it is easy to earn since everytime a visitor loads the page, you earn. This is known as a "high conversion rate". Needless to say, this method will allow you to automatically earn more if your site attracts a lot of visitors.

2. Pay Per Click (PPC)

   When you are paid per click, you are only paid when visitors click the advertiser's banner on your site. The amount paid is usually higher than the pay per impression scheme. Whether you get a high conversion rate here depends on the banner (whether it attracts people to click it), although in general, it has a higher conversion rate than the pay per sale method. A high traffic site will probably enjoy a higher click rate than a lower traffic site, although you will probably get better results if your banners are carefully selected to suit the target audience of your site.

1. Pay Per Sale or Lead

   While you will probably get the highest payment rates with this method, it has the lowest conversion rate of the three schemes. You will only earn if your visitors click through the banner and either purchase an item from the advertiser or take some other prescribed action (eg, sign up for a service). Like the Pay Per Click method, you get much better results if you carefully select your advertisers to suit the target audience of your site.

In general, to avoid wasting resources in issuing cheques for very small amounts, advertisers will usually accrue the amount owing to you until it reaches a certain level (such as $25) before they pay you.

Note that some affiliate networks and programs will not accept you unless you have your own domain name. If you are planning to earn from your site, you should seriously consider registering your own domain name.

How To Choose An Affiliate Program

How should you choose an affiliate program? My suggestion is not to choose a program according to the payment scheme, but rather according to the kind of people who are likely to visit your website. For example, if you are targeting parents on your site, links to affiliates with educational software, books and the like may generate more revenue than banners that link to web hosting companies. The most important rule of choosing an affiliate program is to know your target audience.

Another point to consider is whether you really want to join every single affiliate program that comes your way. Some studies suggest that sites that make the most money from affiliate programs are affiliates of only a small handful of programs. Furthermore, concentrating your advertisements from one network may allow you to be paid faster. If you advertise for hundreds of different affiliate networks on your site, you may wind up earning only (say) a few dollars per month from each network. If your advertiser's minimum payment amount is higher than what you can earn each month, it may take you a long time before you accrue enough to be paid.

On the other hand, that formula does not necessarily hold true for every site (or every page on your site, for that matter). For example, if your site has a particular theme, and an affiliate network only supports one or two suitable advertisers, you might want to sign up for a few affiliate networks so as to get a greater number of relevant advertisers. After all, advertisements that are relevant to your audience are more likely to be taken up than general advertisements. (What's the point of putting banners from only one affiliate if nobody is going to click them?)

Automated Context-Sensitive Advertising

One of the latest trends in website sponsorship is to sign up with an advertising network like Google AdSense The advertising network automatically checks your web page and determines the most relevant advertisement for the page. As a result, without much additional effort from you, you get advertisements targeted at the interests of your visitors. As mentioned earlier, targeted ads tend to result in better performance and returns.

Get Started

Advertising revenue is one of the most effortless way to earn money from your site. You merely have to put the banner there and wait for the money to roll in. (Well, okay, not quite. You will still need to have some visitors first before you can make anything.)

Why wait? If you already have a website, let it earn even while you sleep (literally). Every day you let your site "idle" without advertising is a day of lost opportunity.
